Coast of Croatia is one the most popular resting place in the world. As we know, the demand for the purchase of real estate on the coast of the country was high from the beginning of 2000. However, the global economic crisis led to a decline in buying a property in Croatia and impacted buyers to turn their attention to the traditional markets - France, Italy and Spain. As a result, the decline in demand led to a fall in prices by 30%.
Nevertheless, not all cities suffered because of falling prices. For instance, the housing prices range from 3500 euro to 6000 euro per square meter in the old town Dubrovnik. However, we have another situation Istra, where prices vary in the range from 1,600 to 3,000 thousand euro per square meter.
Interestingly, Croatian real estate enjoyed a great popularity among the British and the Irish in the pre-crisis period, however today the most active buyers are Croats, Russians, and, oddly enough, the Americans and Canadians.
At the moment, prices in the country continue to fall.
It should be mentioned that Croatia will join the European Union in July 2013, and experts predict that it will help improve the situation in the property market of the country
